“You did not choose your family, class, or environment, however, you must take full responsibility for the consequences of that. This does not mean that you have to suffer for it-it just means you have the freedom to move on and make the best of it.”
– Benjamin Pappoe
The goal is not to find the most brilliant applicant. Brilliance in itself is relative. It is not only brilliant people who should be provided with opportunities of a lifetime. We believe that the combination of brilliance, skills, self-development and the ability to reach targets is what matters to push people closer to their goal. Through the JED Scholar Program, we provide partial or full tuition scholarships to qualified students from less privileged backgrounds for an academic year. When accepted into the educational program, the applicants become Scholars and are required to fulfil a combination of learning, leadership and community outreach projects. Renewal of scholarship is subject to performance of JED Scholar.
JED Scholars are applicants who are or should be in Grade 1 – Junior High School. To apply to be a JED Scholar, applicant must submit the following:
- JED Scholar Assessment Form
- Letter of support from school, supervisor, person familiar with applicant
- Exam results from previous/most recent academic year
If selected for the next phase of application, the applicant and/or parents or guardian will be interviewed by JED Foundation Inc. staff
